Ellington AllotmentS Association
Health & Safety
The allotment site is a designated safe area and is inspected accordingly. Anyone entering or using the allotments does so at their own risk and the Parish Council and the Allotment Association cannot accept responsibility for injuries or damages arising to anyone entering the allotments.
Care must be taken when negotiating paths, water stand pipes, raised beds, cabin steps etc, also wear appropriate gardening footwear to avoid risk of injury.
No burning of rubbish or fires.
Damaged or faulty enclosures must be reported immediately to the committee who will take appropriate action
Children are welcome on the allotments but must be carefully supervised by a responsible adult, ensuring that their conduct, wellbeing and safety are maintained at all times.
Entrance Gates - Everyone has the responsibility towards all other allotment holders to ensure you lock gates after you use it. There is little point in having fences if you do not. Think how you’d feel if someone left the gate unlocked and it was your produce that was lost. And if the fence is vandalised, don’t leave it to someone else to report the matter to the committee.
Please be careful when driving vehicles into the entrance, as there is a water pipe coming out of the ground.
When having materials delivered please do not leave them in the entrance and keep the ground clean from spillages of all kinds.
