Ellington AllotmentS Association

Welcome to Ellington Allotments Association
We are a thriving self-managed community allotment site located in the heart of Ellington Village on the northumberland coast 20 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Ellington was the site of the last operational deep coal mine named The Big E situated in the north east of England which was closed in 2005.
Our logo represents the heritage of our local area.
At present the allotments have 33 full plots, 8 half plots and 7 disabled raised beds.
The day to day running of the allotments is carried out by an elected committee of plot holders and associate members.
All our plots are currently being worked by a very enthusiastic group of gardeners.
Our site land has been cultivated for many years. Water is supplied by stand pipes situated around the site. We have a supplies cabin, eco-friendly toilet, communal tools, small bike areas and car park.
We maintain a waiting list and look forward to hearing from anyone interested in becoming a plot holder, you must be a resident in Ellington to be added to the list. Experience is not necessary but you will need enthusiasm and time to tend your plot.
Please email ellingtonallotments@gmail.com giving you name, address and telephone number. There is 35 people on the waiting list at present.
